Saying Goodbye...

Well, it’s finally rolled around. Tuesday was my last day with Channel 20 here in Springfield. Friday will be my last day in Springfield.

I must say that I have gained a new appreciation for my hometown. I’ve seen her seamy underbelly, her beautiful face, and of course being the capital, her political anus.

I’ve met more people in the past eighteen months then I met in my first 19 years living here. I’ve seen and talked to people at their darkest moments and I’ve been able to share their happiest days.

I think I have experience parts of Springfield that many others, who will live here their entire life, couldn’t even consider experiencing.

While this city may be no Las Vegas or New York, it has a charm. A charm that I have grown attached to, now more than ever. I’ll miss living here and experiencing even more of what the city Lincoln loved has to offer, but I look forward to beginning my new life in a new city.

Hopefully I will get to know and respect her like I have Springfield.
