Remakes Don't Always Suck...

Up until last year there really wasn't any good science fiction on. And when I mean good, I mean sci-fi with hot chicks and guns and shit getting blown up.

Hell, the last time we had any sci-fi with shit getting blown up was the Dominion Wars arc of Deep Space Nine!

There is, of course, Stargate: SG1 (I have yet to watch Atlantis...) which has a lot of shit getting blown up, and Sam is pretty hot, but there really isn't a 'space ship', per say.

So maybe I should re-qualify that as 'recent science fiction with a space ship as a central plot point'. Yeah.

Anyway, just finished watching the season finale of the new Battlestar Galactica that airs on SciFi. Personally, I think this is one of the greatest SciFi shows on. It's got great sci-fi elements, like space ships, faster than light travel, shit like that, but it's still realistic. There are no transporters, their guns use bullets, there is no magical scanner that tells you what the Cylons had for dinner.

Plus it's got hot chicks! (Capt. Kara Thrace played by Katee Sackhoff and Lt. Sharon Valerii played by uber nummy Grace Park just to name a couple!)

Anyway, my point is that while it's in reruns, you should check it out - or even rent season one from the local video store or Netflix/Greencine.

And for the record, I managed to watch 15 minutes of an episode of the original before my testicles began to hurt. I hate 60's and 70's science fiction!
